Morrison re-takes Kootenay-Columbia for Conservatives

Conservative Party of Canada candidate Rob Morrison has been elected as Member of Parliament for Kootenay-Columbia, unseating Wayne Stetski (NDP), according to all 268 of the polls in the Kootenay-Columbia riding (preliminary counts) following the Oct. 21 Canadian federal election.

The following is the preliminary vote count/268 polls

Rob Morrison – Conservative – 29,893 votes

Wayne Stetski –  NDP – 22,707

Robin Goldsbury – Liberal  – 6,033

Abra Brynne – Green Party – 5,998

Rick Stewart – People’s Party – 1,360

Trev Miller – Animal Protection Party – 336

The population of the riding is listed at 112,354 and the number of electors on the voters’ was list 91,652.

As for the result of the federal election, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party has been re-elected with a minority government.
