One killed in early morning crash near Moyie
In the early morning hours, Cranbrook RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 3 and 95.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., Cranbrook RCMP was called to a collision between a logging truck and a small car in the 6000-block of Highway 3 and 95, near Eagle’s Nest.
Once on scene police were directed to the vehicle and found that the driver and sole occupant was deceased. The driver of the semi was unhurt.
“Initial reports indicate the eastbound Mitsubishi crossed the centre-line and struck the westbound semi-truck. The collision caused a fire and RCMP was able to extinguish the flames,” reported Cst. Katie Forgeron of Cranbrook RCMP.
The BC Coroners Service attended the scene and is conducting its own concurrent fact-finding investigation to determine what happened.
The investigation is ongoing.
