A chance spotting by a passing BC Ambulance Service plane has led to the discovery of a plane that went missing Nov. 25 (2017), along with its two occupants; Dominic Neron, 28, from Spruce Grove, Alta., Ashley Bourgeault, 31, from Edmonton.

On September 11, at approximately 12 p.m., Revelstoke RCMP, RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Section and Parks Canada arrived at the wreckage site of the

four-passenger plane that left Penticton on Nov. 25, 2017, heading for Edmonton.

A nine-day search followed after the plane was reported missing.

The location of the wreckage is along the Trans-Canada Highway in the Glacier National Park, approximately 60 km east of Revelstoke.

“At this time we can confirm that the plane was the one in question,” reported S/Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky with the Revelstoke RCMP. “The plane had significant structural damage, and showed clear signs of a sudden and traumatic impact.”

A survey of the scene was completed to locate as much evidence regarding the incident as possible. The RCMP can also confirm that remains were located.

“The investigation is still in its early stages,” said S/Sgt. Grabinsky. “We will continue to work with the BC Coroners Service to determine if the remains located are human and, if so, the identities associated.”

Neither agency has further information available at this time.
