Small fire reported at Lake Enid

BC Wildfire Service this morning (August 4) reports one new wildfire overnight.

There is a small (.01 estimated hectare) fire in the Lake Enid camping/day use area believed to be human caused.

This is the second fire at Lake Enid this season.

Two other fires remain on the books in the region, including the Mark Creek fire, west of Kimberley. Discovered August 2, BC Wildfire Service reports the approximate .3 ha fire is being held.

Finally, the Wickman Creek fire, discovered July 29 about 40 km southeast of Cranbrook, is listed as under control. That fire is also believed to be human caused.

Twenty-two new fires have been reported in B.C. in the past two days, with 109 reported in the last week. A total of 347 fires have been reported so far in 2020.
