Truth and Reconciliation Chair to speak

Truth and Reconciliation Chair to speak at Kimberley and Cranbrook events

Kimberley Refugee Resettlement Group (KRRG) is a member of the East Kootenay Humanity Network. This organization links KRRG with speakers and events that educate our community on issues facing our country and, indeed, the world.

EK Humanity Network’s Amy Cross says, “The goal of the Humanity Network is to increase awareness of human dignity and the values of humanity in Canada and British Columbia and to grow our collective understanding of the importance of these values in our communities. Our mission is to create and sustain a regional network of organizations that promotes unity in the diversity among the citizens of the East Kootenay while connecting to the citizens of the world whose vision is to foster and be part of an all-embracing global society.”

Senator Murray Sinclair

The EK Humanity Network is hosting their 2018 Welcoming and Inclusive Community Roundtable event, ‘What does happiness mean to you?’ at the Kimberley Conference Centre on Monday, May 14, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Senator Murray Sinclair, recipient of the National Aboriginal Award and Chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, will be the keynote speaker. Senator Sinclair was invited for his insight into what we can do throughout the East Kootenay to establish and maintain respectful relationships.
