Two new fires reported by BC Wildfire Service
BC Wildfire Service this afternoon (August 19) reports two new fires in the East Kootenay.
The first is located in the headwaters of Joseph Creek, about 20 km south of Cranbrook and nine km northeast of Moyie.
The fire is estimated at .10 hectares and the cause is unknown at this time.
A second fire is reported on Steamboat Mountain, about nine km northwest of Edgewater.
The cause of the approximate .01 ha fire is also unknown.
