While most inbound and outbound flights are grounded for the time being, operations continue as before at Canadian Rockies International Airport (YXC).

Tristen Chernove, YXC Managing Director, Monday night (April 6) provided an update to City of Cranbrook council on airport operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“As a complex entity in an industry which has been designated as essential by the federal government, the team at YXC is committed to continued operation of the airport for the citizens of the region,” the city reported in a council highlights package released this morning (April 9).

Council’s regular meeting last Monday was held via video conference.
