Community rallying for resident injured in crash

On Father’s Day, Tim Tebbe from Sparwood went out for a motorcycle ride with three friends and collided with a minivan coming from the other direction.

He shattered his leg and suffered some severe lacerations. He was flown to Calgary from East Kootenay Regional Hospital for treatment.

Tim will be out of work while he recovers, so a gofundme fundraiser was started to help cover his living expenses and support his family while he concentrates on healing. Over $4,000 has already been raised.

“Tim is a stand-up guy… One of the absolute best human beings that I know! He would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it,” said Nate Camilli, who is organizing the fundraiser.

“Many of us here in Sparwood know Tim; we see him around, always with a smile on his face, always with a kind word. Tim loves to talk to everyone he knows and it’s always a great pleasure to have a chat with him. Tim is a husband, father and a grandfather… I know from experience that Tim has a huge heart, loves his family and always looks for the best in everything.

“Tim needs our help now,” Camilli said. “He will be unable to work for quite a while and this unfortunate accident has stopped him, but it does not stop his need to care for his family and his home. I would like to see us come together, as a community, and help Tim in his time of need. As I’m sure that he would be there for us if we needed him, he needs us to be there for him now.

“Please give what you can, let’s all help Tim out so that he can concentrate on healing!”
