Elk Valley RCMP responded to 537 calls for service between August 27 and October 19.
RCMP responded to the following calls: 20 Animal Calls; six Abandoned Vehicles; seven Assaults; two Assault with a Weapon; six Uttering Threats Against Person; six Breach of Peace; two Breach of Bail Violations; one Break and Enter to Business; one Break and Enter to Residence; 11 Cause a Disturbance; 30 Collisions; one Criminal Harassment; three Drug Possession; four Extortion; one Domestic Assault; 11 Frauds; 2 Harassing Communications; six Liquor Act complaints; four Mental Health Act incidents; six Mischief complaints; four Missing Persons (located); two Stranded (located); three Sexual Assaults; 44 Suspicious Persons / vehicles /occurrences; four Theft from motor vehicles; six Theft of Auto (two); bike (four); four Theft from Auto; five Theft Under $5,000; 88 Traffic complaints (moving-non moving); two Trespass incidents; one Arson; one Careless Use of Firearm; one Public Mischief; one Robbery; and 37 Unspecified Assistance calls.
Thirteen impaired drivers were intercepted by the Elk Valley RCMP resulting in the following: one-24 Hour Road Suspension; 10-90 day Driving Prohibitions plus 30 day vehicle impoundments and 23 day Immediate Roadside Prohibitions (IRP).
Theft of Skid Steer in Sparwood
A TV 380 Skid Steer, owned by Frontline Construction, was stolen from a storage area behind Elk Valley Glass on the night of August 29. Also stolen were two sweeper attachments to the skid steer. Video footage from the area showed the skid steer being hauled away by a Ford F-350 truck pulling a flat deck trailer.
RCMP continue with this investigation and are requesting that anyone having information about this theft to contact Sparwood RCMP Detachment at (250) 425-6233.
Lock it or lose it
Night time thieves are keeping police in the Elk Valley area busy with a noticeable increase in theft from vehicles. People are once again being reminded to lock your vehicles and do no leave personal items in your vehicles.
