Elk Valley RCMP Report

Elk Valley RCMP responded to 226 calls for service between October 8 and October 28.

RCMP responded to the following calls: nine Animal Calls; two Assaults; two Assault with a Weapon; one Uttering Threats Against Person; four Breach of Peace; two Breach of Bail Violations; one Break and Enter to Residence; four Cause a Disturbance; 13 Collisions; four Harassing Communications; five Extortion; two Fraud; two Mental Health Act; six Mischiefs; three Missing Persons (located); 15 Suspicious Persons/vehicles/occurrences; five Theft Under $5,000; and 35 Traffic complaints (moving-non moving).

Three impaired drivers were intercepted by the Elk Valley RCMP resulting in the following:  two-90 day Driving Prohibitions plus 30 day impoundments and three day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP).

Kayaks found near Sparwood

On August 21, good Samaritans located two kayaks, along with snacks, clothing and fishing gear, in a ditch beside Fir Road, Highway 3, East of Sparwood. Since that time, RCMP has secured the kayaks and would like to them to the rightful owner(s) who can claim these items by identifying them/contents.
