Elkford shuts down indoor physical activity programming

We regret to report that all District of Elkford programming involving indoor group physical activities and indoor recreational activities is now suspended until further notice.

This is due to additional provincial orders that were released on November 24 and 25, as well as the district’s continued efforts to do our part to flatten the curve. These cancellations are by the order and direction of British Columbia’s Provincial Health Officer and these restrictions are province-wide.

All registered participants in District of Elkford programming affected by these restrictions are being notified and refunds are being processed.

Programs that are currently suspended include (but are not limited to):

  • Yoga (all types);
  • Martial arts (all types);
  • Gymnastics (all types);
  • Craft nights;
  • Public skating;
  • Parent & Tot skating.

Currently, the Aquatic Centre pool remains open for swimming with a strictly enforced COVID-19 safety plan in place, under the guidance of the Lifesaving Society of B.C. This safety plan includes mandatory masks (while not in the water) and physical distancing.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We appreciate your understanding, as we are doing our best to comply with the evolving restrictions and orders to keep everyone safe. We hope that we can offer recreational and leisure programming again soon!
