If you like taking the ‘back’ way into or out of Elkford, take note.

The District of Elkford this afternoon announced on social media that on Monday, July 13 at 7 a.m., the gravel portion of Alpine Way will be closed to all traffic until Sunday, July 19 (estimated) to undergo road reconstruction.

The closure encompasses the gravel section of Alpine Way that runs from Highway 43 to the David Crescent entrance, as well as to the intersection of Cassiar Drive and Dorita Crescent.

“The closed section will not be reopening at night. Please practise patience, use an alternate route and keep clear of all construction equipment until the road reconstruction is completed,” the district asked.
