Mayor McKerracher addresses Elkford’s re-opening plan

District of Elkford Mayor Dean McKerracher this evening announced in his latest video update on the COVID-19 pandemic that the district’s re-opening plan has formulated and is underway.

The plan is in four phases, following Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.’s provincial health officer’s guidelines, he said, noting the district is entering the second phase.

As a result, playgrounds are opening again in Elkford tomorrow (May 15) but the district won’t sanitize the equipment due to the challenges posed. Guidelines will be available in playgrounds outlining how parents and children can proceed.

“Respect each other’s space,” Mayor McKerracher noted.
