New fire reported near Elkford
BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) has one new fire to contend with Sept. 3, two km east of Elkford.
A suspected person-caused fire was discovered Sept. 2 in the Lily Lake/Lost Lake area. The fire is an estimated 2.3 hectares in size.
The District of Elkford stated on social media last night (Sept. 2) it thanks all who reported the fire.
“This fire is out of Elkford Fire Rescue’s jurisdiction, but our team has been in contact with the B.C. Wildfire Service, whose crews are currently en route to assess the fire. Updates will be provided as they are received.”
