Potential COVID exposure at Elkford elementary

Interior Health (IH) this afternoon is reporting a potential COVID-19 exposure at Rocky Mountain Elementary School in Elkford.

IH says the potential exposure occurred between Nov. 30 and Dec. 2.

IH partners with school districts to share information when there are COVID-19 exposures at schools.

When a case of COVID-19 is confirmed, IH public health works quickly to determine close contacts, and contacts parents/guardians of students who are considered to be at risk.

Notifications are removed after 14 days when the risk of transmission has passed.

According to IH’s website (Dec. 8), there are no other exposures at schools in the East Kootenay.
