A special ceremony will be taking place in the District of Elkford on Jan. 16 as Teck Resources makes a land donation to the Elkford Housing Society.

“I am pleased to announce the generous donation of land by Teck Resources to the Elkford Housing Society for the construction of senior housing in Elkford,” stated Elkford Housing Society chair Duncan McDonald.

The donated land is located at 214 Alpine Way, just west of the Elkford Diagnosis and Treatment centre.

On January 16 there will be a ceremony held on the site of the donated land at 12:30 p.m. with representatives from Teck and the Housing Society, along with District of Elkford Mayor Dean McKerracher will be taking part.
