Canada 150 grants for three local programs

The Fernie Community Fund, under the umbrella of the Cranbrook and District Community Foundation and in collaboration with Community Foundations of Canada’s Community Fund for Canada’s 150th program, is excited to announce three new grant recipients.

Funds are being distributed to Wildsight’s Power of Produce Program, Holy Family Church’s Family Garden project, and Fernie and District Historical Society’s Fernie Connections project (lead image above).

Grants were distributed this week to the local organizations. This initiative is made possible by the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th, a collaboration between the Cranbrook and District Community Foundation, the Government of Canada, and extraordinary leaders from coast to coast to coast.

The Fernie Community Fund was organized in late 2016 and these are the first grants being given by the Fund. The matching fund support of the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th was key to these grants. The Fernie Community Fund is focusing on growing its endowment fund to support future grant requests.
