Check out Moose On The Loose

The Moose on the Loose Festival is a temporary public arts festival in which artists present a moose-themed installation in various Fernie locations.

The Fernie Arts Council-organized festival spans five months, with a new moose reveal each month. Moose artwork is created from different materials based on the artists’ preferred medium or in collaboration with other artists.

Each month, members of the Fernie community create their own moose-themed art pieces that are complementary to the larger installation.

Fernie locals and visitors are encouraged to explore each location and try to find the moose on the loose! Bingo cards and scavenger hunts are supplied each month via our website to help participants find the art.

The festival is self-paced and self-guided, and encourages Fernie locals and visitors to explore new areas of their community while maintaining physical distance and staying safe.

Currently at The Arts Station:

February: Wild Wolves Design;
March: Soraya Olszewski, Michelle Mongey and Felina Arsenault;
April: Sandra Barrett.

Currently, behind the aquatic centre follow the story walk ‘Mikey and Grace Hit the Town’ written by April Montague and illustrated by Annica and Tyra Collombin.
