City inside workers pivot back to remote work
In response to the latest Provincial Health Orders, the City of Fernie is pivoting its inside workers back to remote work wherever possible. This transition is taking place over the next several days and will be complete by the weekend.
Chief Administrative Officer Michael Boronowski stated, “We learned a lot in the initial move to remote work in March, and as a result are able to be much nimbler as an organization to respond to shifting health orders. We ask that community members minimize their visits to City Hall to what is absolutely necessary. The Fire Hall and Operations buildings remain closed to the public at this time.”
Members of the public accustomed to making in-person bill payments at City Hall have the alternative of using online banking, and may also mail cheques or drop envelopes in the City Hall drop box.
The city would like to thank the public for their patience during this brief transition period, and note that questions can be directed to City Hall at 250-423-6817.
