Starting today, the City of Fernie’s water department will begin the annual task of main line flushing.

This preventative work improves water quality by removing sediment deposits and helps to maintain adequate flow and pressure throughout our water distribution system.

Residents may briefly notice trace amounts of water discolouration as we continue flushing over the next four to six weeks.

This mild turbidity is normal and can be resolved by running a cold tap for a few minutes until the water clears.
