Fernie Search and Rescue (SAR) was tasked by Elk Valley RCMP June 16 to respond to an injured mountain biker on a popular trail in the Ridgemont area trails.

The subject, a 52-year-old male, had sustained a suspected fracture to his right hip. Three members were dispatched quickly to locate, assess and stabilize with the remaining SAR members bringing in the needed gear for transport out to the SAR Rescue Truck before eventual hand-off to BC Ambulance.
