SBBC nominations for Fernie businesses

Island Lake Lodge is in the running for two Small Business BC (SBBC) Awards.

Top 10 finalists for 10 business awards were announced Dec. 8, with Island Lake Lodge up for Best Employer and Best Marketer awards in a field thick with Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island businesses.

Fernie’s Shoesmith Construction is also up for best Apprentice Training Award – the only other East Kootenay company to be nominated.

Sue’s Clotheslines of Creston is up for the Premier People’s Choice Award.

According to the SBBC, the nominated businesses will now be invited to submit an ‘Extended Application Form,’ which will be used by its judging panel to determine the top five finalists, who will be invited to pitch why they are B.C.’s best.

Winners will be announced at the Small Business BC Awards Gala on February 23, 2018 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

All winners will receive the Premier’s Prize in the amount of $1,500 cash, a one-year All-Access Pass to Small Business BC education and experts, and the honour of being named a top B.C. small business.
