Takeout Bingo launched to help restaurants

The Fernie Chamber of Commerce has launched a clever campaign designed to help local restaurants during this latest COVID-19 ‘circuit breaker’ lockdown.

The chamber March 31 launched #FernieToGo Takeout Bingo.

“It’s simple. Print out the bingo card (pictured below) or capture a picture on your phone. Order takeout from local Fernie and area restaurants and check them off on the card. Once you get a full row or full column (no diagonals) submit an email to [email protected].

“Include your name, phone number, and the restaurants you got takeout from,” the chamber explained in its Facebook page.

The chamber will be drawing three names from all the submissions. The top prize will be at least $500, but it could be more as donations roll in. You will have to present your receipts from those restaurants and they must be from between the dates March 30 to April 19 inclusive.

Please go out and support our local businesses. Please help us promote this by posting on social media with # FernieToGo.

“And please stay safe. We can and will beat this pandemic if we work together and support one another,” the chamber concluded.

Additionally, the chamber noted there were a couple of errors in its original bingo card post and they have been corrected.
