The District of Sparwood is pleased to welcome Lyle Hannan to the role of Director of Corporate Services.

Lyle brings with him a wealth of experience, having spent over 19 years as a senior municipal manager in small to mid-sized communities across western Canada. His experience is broad, and has included oversight of recreation, tourism, marketing, protective services, bylaw enforcement, as well as various corporate services.

Currently relocating from Saskatchewan, Lyle is no stranger to the Elk Valley, having formerly lived in the Crowsnest Pass. He is excited to be back in the mountains and will soon be joined by his partner Stephanie who will also be moving, pending employment in the area.

“I have just purchased a new place and am looking forward to calling Sparwood home. I am excited to meet and work with the team and to identify Corporate Service priorities that can make a tangible and positive impact on the organization and the community,” he said.

“Lyle will be a great asset to the district,” said Sparwood Mayor David Wilks. “We know that he will bring a lot to the table in this important role and look forward to him joining the team and the community.”

Lyle, who was selected as the preferred candidate in February will begin in his new role March 30.
