Black Spur Ultra-marathon turning five

The Black Spur Ultra, held annually at Kimberley Alpine Resort, is back for its fifh year.

The ultramarathon coordinated by Sinister Sports (of Sinister 7 Ultra and Canadian Death Race) brings runners from around the world to Kimberley.

The weekend promises to be a lucrative one for restaurants, hotels and retails establishments in Kimberley and the surrounding area. With 250 competitors, who bring family and friends with them, the town is sure to be full.

Black Spur Ultra can be run as a 54k, 108k or 108k relay, with each leg beginning and ending at Kimberley Alpine Resort. The race brings in runners and their support crew from all over the world, including Europe and Australia.

The 54k portion of the race will begin August 25 at 8 a.m., ending at 8 p.m.; while the relay and 108k runs will end at 8 a.m. on August 26. Following will be the post-race breakfast and award ceremony.
