City adds to administrative staff

After an extensive recruitment process, the City of Kimberley has hired Pamela Walsh as Manager of Community Development and Communications.

City chief administrative officer Scott Sommerville said the city is “extremely pleased” with the hire.

“Pamela and her family have been living part-time in Kimberley for five years, and she has a deep understanding of what makes Kimberley so special. Pamela’s extensive experience will be instrumental in supporting Kimberley’s non-profit sector and enhancing city communications to our residents,” Sommerville said.

“Starting off, Pamela will be delivering projects such as the Childcare Programming and Facilities Gap Analysis and supporting the Kimberley Youth Action Network.”

Walsh’s wealth of non-profit experience includes positions with the Children’s Legal and Education Resource Centre, Alberta Women’s Entrepreneurs, and Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta.

Her education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Memorial University, a Dale Carnegie training certificate and a certificate in non-profit management.

Walsh will start work on May 21. She can be reached at 250-427-9653 or [email protected].
