Climate Change Solutions event Feb. 12 at Centre 64

The Kimberley Youth Action Network (KYAN) Environmental Action Team, in conjunction with the City of Kimberley and the Citizens Climate Lobby – East Kootenay Chapter, will host a discussion on Climate Change Solutions on Wednesday, February 12 at Centre 64.

Laura Sacks, co-lead of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby, will present her talk centred around the questions – Must We Change? Can We Change? Will We Change? The event begins at 7 p.m.

Sacks’ presentation will focus on local impacts of climate change followed by a discussion about climate solutions. Participants will also have the opportunity to share ideas.

Sacks is a trained Climate Reality Leader and works in the region to build political will for a livable world, specifically to enact meaningful policy to address climate issues. A former organic farmer and hydrologist, Sacks was inspired to refocus her career on climate change after learning about the precariousness of the situation and the urgent need for action.

The event is first come, first served, and is by donation to KYAN Environmental Action Team initiatives.
