Dancing Through the Seasons at Centre 64

A unique music and dance performance is coming to Kimberley’s Centre 64 on Wednesday, July 25, when La Cafamore presents internationally acclaimed modern dancer and choreographer, Paige Culley, dancing to the music of Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’ and Phillip Glass’ ‘American Four Seasons.’

Culley, a native of Rossland, will join fellow Rosslanders, Carolyn Cameron, the founder of La Cafamore, on violin and Nina Horvath on piano, in this performance of classical music and modern dance in Studio 64 at the Centre 64 arts centre.

While the music will be familiar to many, the dance performance will be entirely new, having been choreographed specially for ‘Dancing Through the Seasons’ by Culley. The performance has its debut in Rossland under a slightly different title, ‘Dancing With the Seasons,’ the previous evening, July 24, and will tour on from Kimberley for a performance in Invermere the following evening, July 26.

La Cafamore have delighted audiences at Studio 64 with previous classical music performances featuring Cameron and other musicians but this will be the ensemble’s first excursion into the realm of dance, an innovation to look forward to.

The Wednesday night performance at Studio 64 commences at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7.30 p.m.) and will be staged with cabaret seating at tables with a no-host bar. Tickets are $20 adults, $10 children and youth under 19, obtainable at Centre 64 (250-427-45919 or [email protected]).
