UPDATE – As per City of Kimberley last night: The fire on Highway 95A near Forest Crowne Estates has been extinguished. Crews will continue to monitor the site through tomorrow. Thanks to the Kimberley Fire Department for their quick action and for the support of BC Wildfire Service, BC Ambulance, RCMP and BC Hydro.

Kimberley Fire Department is currently battling a bush fire on the west side of Highway 95A north of the St. Mary Lake Road junction, between Kimberley and Marysville.

Due to congestion, it is recommended travellers take the dump road (Jim Ogilvie Way) if you can.
