Kimberley grads auto parade June 26

Selkirk Secondary School and Kimberley graduates and families will be holding a graduates’ auto parade on Friday, June 26.

The parade, which will run from 1 to 2 p.m., will begin at the Civic Centre, loop around Rotary Park and then proceed down Rotary Drive to the skatepark.

There will be roadblocks at Archibald Street and Marsden Street.

“You will not require a permit prior to the event; instead you will receive written guidelines and a number as you enter the parade so we can keep track of the total number of cars attending. We understand that you may want to go through the parade a few times if you have multiple family members. If you are dropping off a graduate at 12:30 and would like to wait in the Civic Centre parking lot until the parade starts at 1 p.m. you are welcome to do so,” parade organizers outlined.

There will be a volunteer in the lot organizing traffic flow and lining cars up to enter the parade. Foot traffic will not be permitted in the parade area.

People taking part in the parade are asked to stay in your vehicle.

“We will encourage community members to consider coming at 1:30 p.m. for the parade to allow some spacing with traffic, so the parents of the graduates can go in first.”
