Kimberley SAR exercise this evening

Kimberley Search and Rescue teams will be training in the Lois Creek trail complex tonight from 6:30 to around 8:30 p.m.

The teams are training on a lost child scenario and will be looking for a six-year-old male who goes by the name of Billy, Kimberley SAR reported on social media.

Cranbrook SAR will have its search dog Griff and handler Greg out on the trails as well. Please feel free to stop the teams ask questions or better yet play along. Kimberley SAR trains every Tuesday night conducting various scenarios.

ā€œThe goal tonight is to test our preplan of a likely scenario of a lost child in the Lois Creek complex. There will be clues in the forest in the form of paper plates with numbers written on them and a white/black Adidas long sleeve t-shirt representing our subject. We ask that the public leave these clues in place because we use the find counts to measure the teamā€™s effectiveness,ā€ Kimberley SAR explained.

ā€œOur command unit will be set up at the 8th Ave entrance of the trails. Please feel free to knock on the door and introduce yourself.ā€
