Nitros capture fourth straight conference title

The Kimberley Dynamiters last night captured their fourth straight Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) Kootenay Conference Championship, knocking off the Beaver Valley Nitehawks 3-2 in a triple overtime thriller.

Brock Palmer scored his second of the game at 19:09 of the third overtime period. Palmer has paced the Nitros in the off-season as he did during the regular season, scoring four goals 22 points in 13 games.

Keegan McDowell is close behind with seven goals and 13 helpers.

Game one of the KIJHL finals begins March 29, with either Revelstoke Grizzlies or Kelowna Chiefs serving as the Nitro’s next victims.

The Grizzlies lead the Chiefs three to two, with game six this evening at 7 p.m. at the Revelstoke Forum.
