City Hall is opened with several health and safety measures in place, designed to protect City of Kimberley staff and the public. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and we will only be open for payments of utility bills, property tax, license fees, permit fees, and transit passes. Stay home if you are sick and leave children and pets at home if possible.

Second Quarter Utility Payments Due August 10
To provide some assistance to those financially impacted by COVID-19, the city extended the due date for payment of your second quarter (April 1 – June 30) utility bills from June 10 to August 10. Please remember to remit payment on or before the due date to avoid the application of a 10% penalty to any unpaid balance of your second quarter billing. To help comply with physical distancing recommendations, the City strongly encourages that payments be made either online or by phone through your financial institution.
Watering in High Temps Reminder
As temperatures rise, let’s remember optimal watering times. Residents can water between 4 and 10 a.m. and 6 and 10 p.m. Watering during extreme temperatures is less efficient and wasteful as water will evaporate before reaching plant roots. Watering your lawn daily will create a shallow root system, which dries out fast and weakens your lawn. Watering every other day, even numbered addresses on even numbered days and odd numbered addresses on odd numbered days, will help strengthen your lawn.
Category 2 Open Burning Ban in Effect
Effective immediately, Category 2 Open Burning will be prohibited throughout the region, including Kimberley and surrounding areas. Specifically, a Category 2 prohibition includes:
- open fires larger than 0.5 metres wide by 0.5 metres high;
- stubble or grass fires of any size over any area;
- the use of burn barrels or burn cages of any size or description;
- the use of air curtain burners, sky lanterns, or binary exploding targets (e.g., for target practice);
- the use of fireworks.
These prohibitions do not apply to campfires that are smaller than a half-metre high by a half-metre wide or to permitted recreational fire pits, cooking stoves that use gas, propane or briquettes. Campfires should not be lit or kept burning during windy conditions. Anyone who lights a campfire must ensure that sufficient water, tools and people are on hand to contain it. Make sure that the fire is fully extinguished and the ashes are cold to the touch before leaving the area for any length of time. Thank you for your cooperation.
Rotary Splash Park has opened for the season!
The splash park opened on July 17, with increased safety precautions in place to protect you from the potential spread of COVID-19. Large circles have been painted on the grass surrounding the splash pad. The public is asked to pick a circle and remain in it with your family members or group when not using the splash pad. If there are no circles available, please come back at another time.
Other safety measures include ensuring those aged 12 and under are accompanied by an adult; come prepared with hand sanitizer and/or wipes; wash your hands often; and use available garbage and recycling bins to ensure a clean environment.
The splash park will be open daily from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
