Remembrance Day Closure
Kimberley City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, to recognize the Remembrance Day holiday.

City Hall is opened with several health and safety measures in place, designed to protect City of Kimberley staff and the public.
Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and we will only be open for payments of utility bills, property tax, license fees, permit fees, and transit passes. Stay home if you are sick and leave children and pets at home if possible.

Transit Update
Effective Monday, October 26, the KC Commuter (route 22) bus stop that was temporarily relocated to 7th Avenue (near Lindsay Park School playfield) will be relocated back to 4th Ave. at Tadanac Blvd now that the 4th Ave. rehabilitation project is complete! Thank you transit riders and Townsite residents for your patience during the project!
Remembrance Day Garbage Schedule Change
Garbage that would normally be picked up on Wednesday, November 11, will now be picked up on Monday, November 9, to accommodate the Remembrance Day holiday.
City Snow Removal Info
Each winter the Operations Department has the responsibility of maintaining approximately 100 kms of paved and gravel roads within the City of Kimberley. City Operations works hard to accomplish this in the most cost-effective manner possible while still maintaining a high level of service and safety to the public. Sanding and plowing priorities are based on volumes of traffic and steepness of terrain. City streets are generally categorized into three groups:
- Main streets and emergency access routes with hills.
- Other main or collector streets.
- Local and residential streets.
The main streets and hills are completed first. This ensures that traffic can access such facilities as the schools, special care facilities, the central business area, and the ski hill area. Next completed are collector streets, which may not have steep terrain but do have heavy volumes of traffic and include Rotary Drive, Knighton Road, and Jim Ogilvie Way. Residential streets are then serviced. During weekends and statutory holidays, the city generally services only the high priority streets.

Catch Basins
As the cold weather approaches, the city is asking for the public’s support by helping to keep leaves and debris off the catch basins. Please report any blocked catch basins online at or contact the Operations Department at 250-427-9660 or [email protected].
