Contacting City Hall
Kimberley City Hall is opened with several health and safety measures in place. Masks are required inside City Hall and at all indoor public places. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and we will only be open for payments of utility bills, property tax, license fees, permit fees, and transit passes. Stay home if you are sick and leave children and pets at home if possible. Public Skating at the Civic Centre
There are many opportunities for public skating at the Civic Centre. Check out our website for all available times. Skaters must arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to skating time and will not be allowed to enter once skating time has begun. If you leave during the scheduled skating time, you will not be able to re-enter the facility. Safety protocols are in place to keep you and facility staff safe during this time. Thank you for respecting these safety measures.
Winter Safety for Children
Please be aware of and warn children of the extreme safety hazards of playing on snow banks near roads, driveways and alley ways. Cars and snow plows are often unable to see children playing and road conditions can make it difficult to steer and/or brake in the snow and ice – making it much more difficult to avoid potential accidents. Ensure children stay away from snowplows and choose play areas away from roads, fences, driveways and alleys.
2021 Business Licenses
The city kindly requests that Business Licenses be renewed and paid for before January 31, 2021. Application forms for new businesses are available at City Hall or on the city’s web site. With our Inter-Community Business Licenses, mobile businesses can operate in Kimberley and Cranbrook without having to apply for businesses licenses from both municipalities. 2021 Pet Licenses
2021 dog licenses are now on sale at City Hall. The cost for a spayed or neutered dog license is $23 and $57.50 for an unaltered dog license. The fines for an unlicensed dog are as follows: $100 for the first offence, and $200 for each subsequent offence. Please help our Animal Control Officer make sure your pet gets home without a trip to the SPCA, and license your dog today!

FREE Downtown Shuttle
The Peak to Platzl downtown shuttle is a FREE scheduled service between the ski resort base area, the upper-mountain accommodations and the downtown shops, pubs and restaurants. The shuttle service operates every day from December 27 until closing weekend of the ski season. On weekdays, for $6 return trip from Cranbrook, you can catch the KC Commuter bus for a worry free day on the slopes! For more information, please visit the city’s website. Several safety measures are in place to protect against the COVID-19 virus. Don’t forget to wear your mask in line while waiting for the bus and on the bus!
