Police report no public threat at ?aq’am
Earlier this morning (Feb. 26) Cranbrook RCMP responded to a complaint of shots fired in the area of the ?aq’am Administration Complex.
At about 10 a.m. Cranbrook RCMP received a call from a citizen advising they believed they heard a gunshot and were concerned as there was a school and children in the area.
RCMP, along with the ?aq’am Administration, locked down several buildings to ensure the safety of people in the area.
RCMP flooded the area with resources and officers determined there was no threat to the public.
“Cranbrook RCMP would like to thank everyone involved in this lockdown. The community pulled together to ensure that everyone in the area was kept safe until the situation ended,” said Cst. Katie Forgeron of Cranbrook RCMP.
