Early Bird Tuition closes April 28 for writers’ workshops

The St. Eugene Writers Workshops early bird tuition rates end on April 28.

Columbia Basin Trust is sponsoring 10 half-tuition scholarships to a three-day St. Eugene Writing Workshops running May 10-12, at St. Eugene Resort.

The St. Eugene Writing Workshops are modelled after MFA workshops and offer writers the opportunity to participate in a critical examination of their writing in a non-academic environment. The intensive writing workshops are led by award winning authors. These are the only workshops of this sort in B.C.

Updates on the conference instructors:

Anna Marie Sewell’s recent book of poetry, For the Changing Moon, is shortlisted for two awards: WGA’s Stephan G. Stephansson award for best book of poetry, winners will be announced June 8; and the Saskatchewan Book Awards’ Indigenous Peoples’ Publishing Award, TBA April 27.

Shelley Leedahl, Fiction/Non-fiction, recently finished a western Canadian book tour for her recently released The Moon Watched It All (Red Deer Press). Starting in Toronto, when made her way west to her home in Ladysmith over a couple of weeks.

Anosh Irani is just returning from a trip home to India and will be ready to dive into playwriting with the folks signed up.

At this point we have a wide-ranging group of participants in the groups—from best-selling authors to published playwrights attending. It will be a dynamic and exciting three days at St. Eugene Resort for the workshop attendees.
