St. Eugene closing for winter Oct. 12

St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino announced August 26 that it is temporarily ceasing all operations, except Casino of the Rockies, for the winter season.

The closure will take place on Thanksgiving Monday, Oct. 12.

“We expected to see fewer guests this winter because of COVID-19 and this decision will now allow for St. Eugene to focus and plan for what we do extremely well, and that is offering a unique destination of choice in a historic setting duting the spring and summer in the Kootenays,” stated Barry Zwueste, St. Eugene chief executive officer.

While the Casino of the Rockies, like all casinos in B.C., remains temporarily closed due to COVID-19, the resort “is looking forward to when the casino can hopefully resume year-round operations in November, pending government approval,” the business stated.

St. Eugene will re-open fully for the 2021 spring and summer in April as a seasonal resort with a year-round casino going forward.
