ATM theft under investigation

Columbia Valley RCMP is investigating the theft of an automated teller machine (ATM) from a Fairmont Hot Springs golf course.

On June 5, at 5:58 a.m., Columbia Valley RCMP were dispatched to Riverside Golf Course, situated in the 5000 block of Riverview Road in Fairmont, for a break, enter and theft of an ATM.

Police attended the scene and reviewed surveillance video footage that shows a lone male wearing dark clothing, a balaclava and gloves stealing the ATM that was bolted to the floor after breaking into the building.

Parts of the ATM and a two-wheel cart used in the theft were recovered and seized as evidence. A car used during the theft was also noted in the surveillance video.

Police continue to investigate this incident and are asking that anyone with any information regarding this crime to come forward or to contact Crimestoppers.
