Business license renewals hit mailboxes
Business license renewal notices for 2017 are being mailed via Canada Post during the month of December.
Included with the renewal process this year, business owners will be provided a questionnaire to complete. The questionnaire will allow the city to easily update business contact details as well as provide information on the new Inter-Community Business Licenses and the Commercial Vehicle License Decal program.
Fees are $150 per year; however, a $25 ‘prompt payment discount’ will be credited on renewals if payment is received prior to February 28, 2017. You can pay for your business license in person at City Hall, through the mail or payment options may also be available online through your financial institution.
A business license is required for any operation of business within the boundaries of the City of Cranbrook, and can be obtained by application available on the city website and clicking on ‘eForms’.
The business license bylaw requires that owner/operators advise the License Inspector of any changes to the name, mailing address or location of the business and to also advise if the business is closed and no longer operating.
For further information or questions, please contact Bylaw Services at (250) 489-0263.
