Wings Festival celebrates its 29th year May 4–10
The beloved Wings over the Rockies Nature Festival returns May 4–10, inviting residents and visitors to experience a week-long celebration of nature, wildlife, conservation, and community in the Columbia Valley.
With the inspiring theme “Adventures in Nature,” the 2026 festival features over 90+ immersive events, including guided field excursions, engaging workshops, inspiring evening presentations, a special film screening, live music, and a Gala Celebration with keynote speaker.
Since 1997, Wings over the Rockies has connected people of all ages with the natural world through education, exploration, and meaningful experiences that inspire conservation and stewardship. The 2026 festival continues this tradition by offering hands-on opportunities to learn from scientists, naturalists, artists, photographers, outdoor guides, and environmental educators.

“Wings over the Rockies is about sparking curiosity, building connection, and inspiring action,” said Festival Producer Krystie Elizabeth Shopland. “The 2026 theme, Adventures in Nature, invites people to step outside, try something new, and rediscover the wonder of the natural world right in their own backyard.”
The festival also plays an important role in supporting sustainable, nature-based economic development in the region by partnering with local businesses, guides, artists, and organizations.
