District of Sparwood councillor and current Acting Mayor Amy Cardozo July 11 announced the launch of her mayoral campaign.

“Two and a half months ago, I jumped in with both feet into the role of Acting Mayor after Dave’s (Wilks) retirement. It’s been an absolute pleasure. I’m thoroughly enjoying all of the conversations, meetings, and events I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of so far,” Cardozo stated on social media.

“I’m finding my rhythm, creating a good balance with work, family and friends, and I have to say… I’m really loving this new role! It’s been exciting, rewarding, and something I’m so grateful to be a part of.

“With that said, I’ve officially launched my Amy Cardozo for Mayor page. If you support me, I’d be so grateful if you’d give it a follow and invite your Sparwood friends to do the same. Every share and invitation helps me connect with more people in our community.
