Obituary for Marie Kendal

Marie Renee Kendal passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 in Kimberley, BC at the age of 85 years.

Marie was born April 23, 1927 in Edmonton AB to Renee and Walter Petersen. Marie is survived by her children John (Jody), Darrel (Margo), Keith (Karen), Colleen (Kent), Scott (Joanne), Tim (Wendy), 20 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sisters Lil Baxter, Rita Diebolt, Denise Mortenson, and one brother, Christian (Pete) Petersen. She was predeceased by her husband John, sisters Clair and Therese, and one brother George.

Marie’s first home was in Leduc, AB after which they moved on to Westbank, BC and later retired in Marysville, BC. She was a stay at home mom for her six kids, plus many others who needed a loving home. The coffee pot was always on. Bowling, crib tournaments, bingo, traveling South for the winter with her friends and family, going to the casino, camping, sewing, and playing dominos with her grandchildren were just a few of her favourite things to do.

As per her request there will be no funeral service. A small gathering will be held to remember Marie at Terra-Lee, 2025 Kokanee Dr., Cranbrook in the North Hall on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com.
