It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce that Mrs. Mildred (nee Huppie) Gairdner passed away peacefully at the Pines on Sunday, June 17, 2012. She has gone on to join her husband. Mildred was just three weeks shy of her 90th birthday. She was lovingly known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as “Nanny”. Mildred was the matriarch of the whole Gairdner/Huppie families and she will be greatly missed. One of her favourite activities was camping at St. Mary’s Lake. Mildred leaves to mourn her passing her children and grandchildren, Gary (Marlene) Gairdner, Terry (Penny), Jeff and Kimmy; Dale (Sherry) Gairdner, Barry (Misty); Rochelle (Randy) Wallach, Mike (Brinda), Rob (Colleen); Joel (Carrie) Gairdner, Cody, Amber and Logan; and Tammy Gartner. Also left to mourn her passing are her sister and brothers, Gertie Arnfinnson, Tommy Huppie and Peter Huppie and their families. And the lights of her eye, her 10 great grandchildren. Mildred was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Joseph Gairdner (1986), her granddaughter Kristen, her sisters Irene and Doreen, brother-in-law Dori, sisters-in-law Marge and Annie. A Celebration of Mildred’s Life will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kimberley with Father John Kellogg officiating.
