It’s with great sadness that the family of Douglas Thomas Ballendine of North Battleford, Saskatchewan announces his passing on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the FW Green Memorial Home.

Doug was a charismatic man with a love for dancing, music, and celebration. You could also find him “jigging” up a storm on the dance floor at the Bull River Inn. He and his beloved wife relocated from Saskatoon, SK to Wardner, BC in 1970 where they continued to raise their 6 children. Doug gained employment as a forklift operator with Galloway Lumber from 1974 – 2001.

Doug is survived by his 6 children Terry Ballendine, Rick Ballendine, Gwen Kirsch, Thomas Ballendine, James M Ballendine and Vince Ballendine; brothers Gerald Ballendine, George Ballendine, Hughie Ballendine, and Barry Ballendine; sisters Monica Haugen, Joyce Krilow, Irene Hanson, Geraldine Arundell and Diane Loik; and also many cherished and loved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Doug is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Alice Ballendine, his beloved wife Flora Ballendine, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

A memorial service for Doug will be held on Saturday, February 1st, 2014, at the Wardner Community Hall, in Wardner, BC from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
