Edgar Lawrence Lewis passed away on October 2, 2015 at the age of 97. He was born in Eastend, Saskatchewan on May 2nd, 1918 the third of 8 children. He is survived by his wife Claire of 46 years, his step-children, Bryan (Marita) Cale, Denis (Lori) Cale, Keray (Brandy Dunne) Cale, Judy (Derek) Spring and Lori Field. Ed was pre deceased by his first wife, Margaret in 1989 and is survived by his children Rodger (Lorina) Lewis, Jean (Douglas) Rollins and Sandra (Jay) McCowan as well as two sisters, Bernice Breton and Evelyn Grover and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ed served in the Navy during World War II and often shared his stories about the war with others. He lived in Creston, Kimberley and was a long-time resident in Cranbrook. Ed had many careers and is mostly remembered for his work in the construction industry including running his own company, Tri-Square Construction. He retired at the age of 85. Ed took up golf in his 50’s and enjoyed the game until he was 95. He also liked going to the casino and could often be found at his favorite machine there. Ed will be missed by his family and the many people whose lives he touched.

A special thank you to Dr. Dawson for the care and compassion Ed received over the years. Also thanks to the staff at Joseph Creek, the F. W. Green Home and the East Kootenay Regional Hospital for their dedication to Ed’s care during the last few months. At Ed’s request, no service will be held.
