Obituary for Edward Lawrence Nightingale
Nightingale, Edward, Lawrence
Jan 31, 1962 – Jul 8, 2015
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Edward “Ed” Nightingale in Cranbrook Hospital on July 8. Born on January 31, 1962 Ed was raised in the Cranbrook area. When he was only about 12 years old, his heroic actions saved the life of a drowning girl once.
After graduating, he spent most of his life working in the logging industry around Cranbrook, Golden, Telkwa and Smithers and eventually settled in the Prince George area.
Ed loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hiking, camping and hunting and in the early 1990’s even had a featured article in the “Bow Hunter” magazine.
Ed is survived by his wife Roberta (aka Bobbie), Step daughters Tara (Leanne) and Lilia, three granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. He also leaves behind to mourn his passing three brothers Neil, Calvin (Terry), Tim (Michelle) Nightingale and his sister Holly (Rob) Hubley as well as numerous Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Ed was predeceased by his parents Dennis (2006) and Peggy (2012), Brothers Ron (1984), Murray (2011) and very recently by his Brother David (2015) which was why Ed had made the journey back home to Cranbrook. He will be missed and never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life for both Ed and Dave will be held on Sept. 19, 2015 at Wycliffe Park at Site 4 for those who wish to attend. It will be a pot luck gathering for family and friends to smile and share memories and festivities.
