mary aARNESEN: Mary Angela

September 3, 1915 – May 30, 2015

Mary passed peacefully from this life the morning of May 30th after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life. Mary was born in Cokato, BC to parents Thomas and Mary Costanzo on September 3, 1915. Mary is survived by her children: Dave (Karen), Barb (Louis), Celia (Ron), and Marilyn (Gary); 12 grandchildren: Patrick, Tara, Diana, Guy, Dale, Clint, Marybeth, Brent, Darrell, Robin, Melanie, and Jolene; 8 great grandchildren: Christopher, Alexander, Kyle, Shelby, Miranda, Danielle, Layne, and Kyra; 7 great great grandchildren: Elijah, Sterling, Logan, Holland, Haedyn, Averie, and Emerson, and her brother Robert Costanzo. Mary was predeceased by her parents, her husband Jack Mader, son Larry Mader, grandson David Hamilton, granddaughter and her husband Nadine and Gary Hill, her son-in-law Fred Hamilton, and her second husband Oscar Arnesen. Mary attended school in Cokato and continued her education in Elko by correspondence to Grade 10. She met Jack Mader while working at Dumonts and they were married in 1935. Mary worked very hard on the farm with her children; gardening, cooking, baking, canning, and sewing; all of this without electricity! She was involved in the Galloway/Jaffray communities and was an honorary member of the Royal Purple. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family; her home always a welcome haven. In her later years she lived at Trinity Lodge before moving to Rocky Mountain Village where she passed away peacefully.
