Pietro “Pete” AQUILA
June 29, 1927 – September 22, 2015
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Pietro Aquila, beloved husband of Dora Aquila (nee Rizzo), loving father to Franco (Kelly), Adriana (Alan), Ornella (Frank), and Luciana (Floyd), precious grandfather to Candice, Lauren, and Jesse, and great grandfather to Cayden. Pete was predeceased by his parents, Nicola and Marietta, his brothers, Ralph, Salvatore, Tony, Michael, and Mario, and sisters Emelia, Anna, Carmella, and Gina.
Pete loved the great outdoors, especially camping, fishing and hiking. He was extremely grateful for Fernie’s Italian community and the support they gave him and his family over the years.
Pete will live on forever in the hearts and minds of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The Aquila family wishes to thank the Dr. Geddis, the nurses, and staff at the Elk Valley Hospital for the compassionate care and attention given to Pete.
