RUPP, DANIEL RAY

JUNE 24, 1935 – FEBRUARY 13, 2019

Daniel Ray Rupp passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Invermere & District Hospital at the age of 83 years.  Born in Kelstern, Saskatchewan Dan was the youngest of four children born to Richard and Kathleen Rupp.  He was raised in Nakusp, BC with his sisters Anna and Lena and his brother Hank.   While working in Nelson, BC Dan met the love of his life Laura and together they raised four children Larry, Rick, Roger and Louella in Cranbrook, BC.

Throughout his life, Dan was always searching for opportunities that could change the world, or at least his small corner of it.  It seemed easy for him to see great potential in new opportunities, and he was always looking for ways to make those opportunities come to fruition. Dan’s search was full of struggles and lean times, but those struggles never stopped him from believing that there was a way to make a greater impact. Through all the good and bad, Dan always found support in his strong faith in God and his family.  Of all the changes he sought in life, Dan found the most satisfaction in seeing the love and support that his children have for their own children.

Dan leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 53 years, Laura and his four children; Larry, Rick (Cathy), Roger and Louella (Lee) Johnston.  Dan also leaves behind his seven grandchildren; Mary, Charlotte, Anthony, Danielle, Nelson, Jason and Kaitlin : his two great grandchildren; Lucas and Remi and one sister Anna Hall.  Dan was predeceased by his sister Lena and brother Hank.

The Family would like to thank Dr. Johnson and the staff of the Ivy House for the compassionate care you gave our dad this past year.  To Jodi : your extra kindness put a smile in dad’s eyes and helped ease our heavy hearts – may your life be blessed.

A Celebration of Dan’s Life will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Newlife Foursquare Church, 308 – 10th Ave. S., Cranbrook.
